Furniture Delivery Driver

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Furniture Delivery Driver to join our team.  You will be responsible for driving one of our furniture delivery vans, and with the assistance of a porter, installing furniture in customers’ homes.  This is a physically demanding role that requires heavy lifting with great care and precision.

Rate of pay is £27,500 per year.

Working hours:  40 per week - Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Driving a large van to customers’ homes.
  • Loading of the van each morning for the day’s deliveries.
  • Unloading furniture by hand and moving into the chosen rooms.
  • Unpack and assemble all required items.
  • Taking all packaging away and any old furniture for disposal.
  • Ensuring great care is taken at all times so no damage is caused to the furniture or the customer’s home.
  • Maintain a calm and professional manner at all times.
  • Fast and accurate incident reporting.
  • Other general warehouse tasks, such as receiving, inspecting, storing items, and assembly.

Skills:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

  • Safe and capable handling of a large van.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficiency unpacking and assembling furniture.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time.

Qualifications:

  • Furniture delivery experience: 2 years (preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence
